Can I delete my Love Lock?
No, and that is exactly the point. There is no delete button, not even for us. Once written, your Love Lock stays for as long as the network exists. Why that is technically true is explained above under Why no one can cut it off.
Can anyone see my Love Lock?
Yes, your Love Lock is public and anyone can see it. You get a link to your card and to the public blockchain entry, where every detail is transparent. That's part of the magic: it's real and verifiable.
How do you prevent hate or inappropriate content?
Before a payment starts, an AI-powered filter (OpenAI) automatically checks your input for hate. Insults, hate speech, derogatory terms and extremist codes are rejected, when in doubt we err on the strict side. Everything else is welcome. Only what passes this filter is allowed onto the blockchain. We check beforehand, because afterwards we cannot correct anything.
What does "on the blockchain" mean?
A blockchain is a public digital ledger stored simultaneously on thousands of computers around the world. Once something is written there, no one can change or delete it, not even us. Your Love Lock is stored on Base, a major blockchain network built on Ethereum. It stays as long as the network exists, practically forever. How exactly that works →

Because it embodies three qualities that real love shares. Public: love doesn't hide; it deserves to be seen. Decentralised: no one controls it, no one can simply take it away. How can I verify that my Love Lock is really on the blockchain?
Anyone can check it, entirely without us. Your Love Lock is written live to the blockchain and receives a unique transaction code, the so-called hash. Your card page shows this code along with all technical details. The "View on BaseScan" link takes you to BaseScan, a public website that displays every blockchain entry and is run independently of us. There you can see your symbol, your names and the exact time of the entry. No one, not even us, can change or remove that record afterwards.
I can't find our names on BaseScan, what do I do?
Don't worry, your entry is there. BaseScan just shows the data as a technical code at first. Here is how to make it readable: on your card page, click "View on BaseScan", scroll to the "More Details" section and expand it. Next to "Input Data" there is a "View Input As" switch; set it to "UTF-8". Your symbol and names then appear exactly as you entered them. Good to know: you receive the transaction code (hash) together with your Love Lock. With it, your entry can be looked up at any time, even completely without our website. The data belongs to you and to the public network.
Is the payment secure?
Yes, payments run through Stripe, one of the world's leading payment providers. We never store credit card data.
Can I withdraw from my Love Lock order?
As a consumer, you normally have a 14-day right of withdrawal for online purchases. A Love Lock is digital content that is written to the blockchain immediately after you pay. Before checkout we therefore ask you to explicitly consent that we may start performing the contract right away, and to acknowledge that your right of withdrawal expires as soon as performance begins (§ 356 (5) German Civil Code, implementing Art. 16(m) of the EU Consumer Rights Directive). Because we dispatch the transaction immediately after payment, withdrawal is in practice no longer possible. Only in rare exceptional cases, for example if a technical delay prevents the transaction from being dispatched in time, will we refund the full price on a goodwill basis after you contact info@spectralworld.io.
